About this case

Long face Class II, 1, massive gingival smile, too short teeth.

Julie is a lovely woman, enjoying life and laughing all the time. She has a long face, showing disturbingly her upper gums. Moreover, some gum has grown over the tooth surface, making the teeth too short, out of proportion, and accentuating her facial inconvenience.

The treatment plan included a lower jaw advancement (BSSO), upper jaw intrusion (Le Fort I), and liposuction of and neck face.
A crown lengthening procedure was performed as well (see pictures). The front teeth were on a lower level than the back teeth. The teeth were shortened on the incisal part for some millimetres and the crown lengthening procedure was done on the cervical part. This in order to level the upper arch, adjust the length to the width of her teeth, and to make it possible for her dentist to realise the final crowns in harmonious proportions.
Julie was very happy with the result, as well as Dr Defrancq!
